The 2018 Commonwealth Games, commonly known as Gold Coast 2018 and officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games. The 2018 Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that will be held on the Queensland, Gold Coast, Australia between 4 to 15 April. The winning bid of Commonwealth Games was announced on November 11 – 2011 in Basseterre, Saint Kitts. Australia has hosted the Commonwealth Games It will be the 5th time.

Commonwealth Games 2018 Schedule

The current regulations state that from the Twenty-Six approved sports and the current approved sports include the Ten core sports: athletics, lawn bowls, netball (for women), rugby sevens, badminton, boxing, hockey, squash and weightlifting or swimming.

Integrated disabled competitions are also scheduled for the Games in 9 sports: table tennis, cycling, power-lifting and lawn bowls, swimming, athletics and cycling, . Along these events for the 1st time EAD events in triathlon will be held and with medals being added to the final tally for each nation.

A record thirty eight para events will be contested at these games. On March 8 2016, Beach Volleyball was announced as the 18 march 2016 sport.

2014 Commonwealth Games will be broadly similar to that of the program and with the major changes being the dropping of judo and the debut of women’s rugby sevens and beach volleyball and the reintroduction of basketball.

On 7 October 2016, it was announced 7 new events for women were added to the sport program. This marks the 1st time in history that a major multi-event in sports will have equality in terms of events. 18 sports will be contested in total 275 events.
